I chose this profession entirely because of my devotion to people. It gives me great pleasure to seek answers, solve problems, and assist others as they regain a state of wellness and a sense of normalcy.
I was born in California, attending high school in beautiful Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side. It was biology and anatomy that captivated me and an amazing teacher that inspired me to follow a career path in healthcare.
Originally, I was educated as a Registered Nurse, graduating from nursing school in Reno, Nevada in 1983. Subsequently, I began my nursing career at a small desert hospital that allowed me to practice in many areas; discovering a passion for emergency and critical care nursing.
Later, I entered a Physician Assistant (PA) program at the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks Medical School .After graduation I spent several years in family practice working with my precepting physicians and taking a job with an ER group at Lake Havasu’s Emergency department. It was an experience of a lifetime.
In 2004 our family moved to Wickenburg and I worked at Del Webb and Boswell Hospital’s emergency rooms and locally at a Family Practice Clinic. I joined the Community Hospital Clinic in 2007 and will soon celebrate my 17th year as a practicing Physician Assistant.
My family and I love Wickenburg and our beautiful little hospital. I have worked in many facilities and believe that Wickenburg Community Hospital can compete with the biggest and best for many health services I truly enjoy my practice here at the Clinic and the many people who put their trust in me.
Currently I assist in the facilitation of Wickenburg’s Breast Cancer Support group and I am proud to be a part of our Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ribbon Angel program that provides free mammograms to our community.
In our leisure time, we like to go boating, snow skiing, and hiking. I am a grandmother of three and have found that this role brings out the kid in me. I am also a member of Calvary Baptist Church and participate in Bible study. My favorite passage is 1John 4:19 “We love because He first loved us”.
