Funds to be Used to Continue with the Hospital’s Mission of High-quality Healthcare

PHOENIX (Feb. 17, 2016) – Wickenburg Community Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce a $1M gift from the estate of Alex and Jane Boyd to be used to continue the hospital’s mission of providing world-class healthcare to its community.

Established by the late Alex and Jane Boyd former residents of Wickenburg, their contributions over the years have been instrumental in the town’s growth and to the preservation of its Western heritage. “This gift from the Boyd’s estate is truly remarkable for a hospital of our size,” said Jim Tavary, President and CEO of Wickenburg Community Hospital. “The Boyd’s generosity is a testament to how important our hospital is to our community. This gift will help us enhance patient care for our residents and those in outlining areas.”

This gift to the Wickenburg Community Hospital Foundation comes on the heels of the Foundation’s successful $7.5M capital campaign to fund the construction of a surgical and diagnostic center that began May 2015, with a projected completion date of June of 2016. This state-of-the-art facility will provide a new range of medical procedures including general and orthopedic surgery, as well as, biopsies, skin grafts, gynecological and eye surgeries. The undertaking of this type endeavor would not be possible without the generosity of the residents and supporters of Wickenburg and its surrounding communities.

“Alex and Jane were wonderful people, and their generosity along with that of many others makes it possible for this hospital to grow and continue improving services in our area,” said Arthur Ditto, Board Chair of Wickenburg Community Hospital Foundation, “We are grateful to the generosity of donors who reside here in our community and beyond, who are passionate about healthcare for rural communities.”
