Jean Day Charity Donation – Humane Society

Jean Day Charity Donation – Humane Society 28July

WCH Employees Love to Give Back

Each month Wickenburg Community Hospital and Clinics’ (WCH) employees have the opportunity to participate in the Jean Day for Charity Program. Participating employees donate $5.00 a month and get the option to dress down and wear jeans to work one day a month (for those whose positions permit it). Each quarter proceeds from the program are donated to a local charity. “This is such a fun and rewarding program to be a part of because we get to vote on recipients and contribute to the betterment of our local community. This is a great perk to working for this organization.” says Terrie Davidson, Community Relations Manager (WCH). “It is always exciting to wear our comfortable jeans to work but, the highlight is the excitement exhibited by the recipients each quarter!”

This quarter, WCH employees were proud to present the funds, in the amount of $2,182.64, to Tammy Hankins, President & CEO of The Humane Society of Wickenburg and her feedback was very enlightening. “We are so grateful for this generous donation to the animals at HSW! These funds will go toward the surgical suite we are adding at the shelter. This surgical suite will enable a licensed veterinarian to perform sterilization surgeries onsite, reducing each animals length of stay and increasing the number of animals we will able to serve. Thank you to the staff at the Wickenburg Community Hospital!” said Tammy Hankins, President & CEO.

The Humane Society of Wickenburg’s mission is to enrich the lives of animals and enhance the lives of people by joining them in loving relationships and to encourage responsible pet ownership through public awareness and humane education. The organization is a 501©3 non-profit that relies solely on private donations to care for hundreds of animals every year.  They receive no tax dollars, no government funding, and are not affiliated with any other humane society, SPCA or the ASPCA.  Donations to the Humane Society of Wickenburg remain in the local community to help animals in need.
