National Nutrition Month- Food Drive

National Nutrition Month- Food Drive post thumbnail image

During this month’s Nutrition Educational Series presentation and in association with National Nutrition Month and our Community Food Drive; Debra Loder, WCH Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian not only highlighted the importance of healthy food and nutrition choices- she shared with us some shocking community statistics specific to Wickenburg.

According to community data- Nearly 60% of K-8 students live in food-insecure households and for many of these children, school breakfast and lunch provide the bulk of their meals during the week. A weekend should be looked forward to as an opportunity for enjoyment, not an empty stomach.

Thanks to the wonderful efforts of our local Elk’s Lodge and Melissa’s Cupboard program our community is banding together to make a difference- but we need your help!

Please help us spread the word by sharing this video with the “share” link at the bottom of this page. Single serving food items can be donated at WCH 520 Rose Ln. until March 29th. For more information: Please call Debra @ 928-684-542 EX. 3632
