Wickenburg, AZ, November 16, 2020 – Wickenburg Community Hospital (WCH) & Community Hospital Clinics (CHC) joins the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health, the National Rural Health Association, as well as state agencies such as the Arizona Rural Health Association and the Arizona Center for Rural Health in celebrating National Rural Health Day November 19, 2020. Held annually on the third Thursday of November, this day pays tribute to the thousands of men and women, first responders, over 1,200 Critical Access Hospitals, the estimated 4,500 Rural Health Clinics, and thousands more rural health organizations serving the unique health needs of an estimated 57 million rural lives across the Nation.

Now in its tenth year, National Rural Health Day celebrates the Power of Rural. “Strengthening the access and the quality of healthcare in our communities is an important part of our mission.  It has been exciting to be a part of recent initiatives such as our Level IV Trauma Emergency Department’s renovation and installation of a new 3D Mammography unit in our Breast Center. Being part of an organization that continues to hit these milestones amid a global pandemic is amazing. This is what the “Power of Rural” is all about” stated Brenda Crissman, Executive Director of Foundation and Community Relations, Wickenburg Community Hospital.

Wickenburg Community Hospital serves as a federally designated Critical Access Hospital and state-designated Level IV Trauma Center supporting the needs of residents and surrounding rural communities within approximately 3,300 square miles. Community Hospital Clinics operate in Wickenburg, Congress, and Wittmann.  Both WCH and CHC work to improve community health and well-being by advancing patient care initiatives, medical technology, education, and community engagement.
