Rehabilitation is a vital part of the healing process following an illness, injury, or surgery. In addition, physical therapy can help prevent injury by treating many common ailments, such as balance issues, pelvic pain, headaches, chronic pain, and arthritis. Below are six tips to help you make an informed decision.

Location & Business Hours

The location and operating hours of a clinic can affect a patient’s ability to fully engage in the treatment plan; travel time and operating hours must not cause a major inconvenience.  At Wickenburg Community Hospital Rehabilitation Center (WCH) we have a convenient location in town with ample parking. Patient visits begin at 7 AM and extend to 6 PM.

Treatment Environment

Does the facility accommodate for easy, safe access to care? WCH Rehabilitation Center is one level with automatic doors for safety and convenience. The recent, extensive renovation increased the safety and functionality of the gym providing a refreshingly modern, bright, open, and clean environment. Treatments are fun and enjoyable to engage in. 

Being attached to the main hospital and right across the street from the specialty and primary clinics, allows patients to schedule appointments with other providers or for procedures on a schedule that is close to their therapy session. This creates a one-stop-shop for health care needs, decreasing stress, and saving precious time.

Treatment Providers  & Compatibility

You may want to set up a meet and greet with the therapy providers to ensure you work well together. Ensure communication is effective, and you find comfort with their techniques and personality.  WCH Rehabilitation providers are happy to meet with patients and answer questions regarding treatment modalities and styles.  We strive to establish a successful and productive patient-therapist relationship. 

WCH Rehabilitation provides quality care that promotes patient progress, retention, and goal achievement valuing communication and patient engagement. Our belief is that communication starts on the first day and does not stop throughout treatment.  We also communicate with the patients’ other healthcare providers to streamline care and provide an interdisciplinary approach.

Treatment Engagement

Ensure the patient can fully engage in treatment. As a patient this is vital. Know which provider is being seen and when. Complete home exercises as planned. Ask questions, and call between visits as needed.  WCH Rehabilitation strives for continuity of care and believes that it is imperative for each patient’s health to build a solid relationship with his/her therapist. Making every effort to keep each patient with the same therapist throughout their treatment is a high priority. The therapist should check-in at each visit to ensure the patient is able to follow through with treatment plans that support progress.

Financial Planning

Another important aspect of choosing a provider is developing a financial plan in the beginning. At WCH Rehabilitation the team will guide patients through the billing process beginning with the first visit. Front Office Coordinators are diligent to provide accurate information regarding insurance and financial responsibility, working with each patient to bill the insurance, obtain authorization for treatments and then create payment plans to collect the deductibles and co-payments. This is often stressful which is why we strive to provide you with comprehensive information and keep you updated throughout your treatment process.

• Utilizing a team approach, our therapists strive to provide the highest-quality treatment to produce measurable results. Our personalized programs are designed to help individuals achieve their highest level of independence in order to return home as quickly as possible.
• For in-patient rehabilitation: At discharge, the care team works with each individual and their families to ensure a smooth transition. Community resources and programs, such as adaptive equipment orders, family training, and wellness programs are discussed and coordinated.
• Outpatient therapy is also available for those who need assistance after returning home.
