Wickenburg Community Hospital and Clinics (WCH) healthcare system is committed to providing quality health and wellness services where the patient, family, and community come first. Our dedication to this mission has remained steadfast for well over a decade.  With your continued support, WCH has had a remarkable recovery from the pandemic! Over the last year, patient care needs have dramatically increased in almost all healthcare services, but most especially in Hospital Admissions (140% increase); Surgical Volume (22% increase); and Emergency Room Visits (14 % increase). WCH has responded well to the pandemic by providing much needed Monoclonal Antibody Therapy and Diagnostic Services with CardioPulmonary Exams leading the way with nine percent growth!

As we consider the future, it’s clear that WCH must diversify and expand to meet the expectations of the 25,000 people it serves across 3,300 square miles. This community is widely dispersed over this large geography in three (3) different counties – Maricopa County, Yavapai County, and La Paz County.  The following table shows the age distribution and population for the major towns and cities we serve.

Some of the questions WCH must consider in the coming years are related to the anticipated growth of the Phoenix Metropolitan area as it expands north and west toward Wickenburg – the only remaining growth zone for the 5th largest city in the Nation! This population is much younger (33 years) than our current service area (52 years). With that said, WCH is asking how does this population want to engage with healthcare services? In addition, healthcare demand for WCH is being driven by the rapid expansion of Wickenburg Ranch, an active resort-style community attracting individuals 55 years plus. Our growth plans over the next three years are designed to support these two diverse communities along with the more remote areas of Bagdad, Salome, Congress, Aguila, etc. More specifically, WCH is dedicated to improving the quality of services it currently provides along with filling in the gaps to support the growing healthcare needs throughout our local community. Several steps have already been taken in this regard.

  • Patient Experience Manager has been added to care for of each person using our healthcare services.
  • QWickCare Urgent Care has opened on the weekends to provide an alternative to costly Emergency Room Visits.
  • New Surgical Capabilities are being added to provide a wider range of specialty services such as Hand and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and the MAKO Robot.
  • TeleBehavioral Health is now available to support our Primary Care Providers.
  • NeuroInterventional Radiology provides expanded pain management capabilities.

Progressive plans will not stop at these few implementations. WCH will progress step by step to pursue higher levels of quality healthcare as the year continues
