Wickenburg Community Hospital & Clinics Sponsors Wickenburg Unified School District Athletic Department
August 6, 2019 Wickenburg Community Hospital (WCH) and the Community Hospital Clinics announce that they are sponsoring the Wickenburg Unified School District Athletic Department for the 2019-2020 school year. The sponsorship includes supplying first aid kits to the Wickenburg High School and Vulture Peak Middle School Athletic Departments. In addition, they will be providing two team physicians for the Wickenburg Wrangler high school football team.
The sponsorship was proposed in May by Wickenburg High School Athletic Director, Matthew Johnson. In his proposal, Johnson outlined a need for new first aid kits at the high school and the middle school to replace the old kits which he had been deemed “inadequate”. In addition, WCH is continuing to provide post game evaluation and in-field treatment of sports injuries for the Wranglers this football season. The doctors on site this year will be Jeremy Bramwell, DO and Tanner Moore, DPM.
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Wickenburg Community Clinic, Jeremey Bramwell specializes in family and sports medicine. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in Physiology and Developmental Biology; Dr. Bramwell earned a Doctorate of Osteopathy at Midwestern University – Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of his class before going on to complete his residency at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.
As a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine; Dr. Tanner Moore specializes in all aspects of foot and ankle care, including surgical reconstruction, diabetic management, sports medicine and wound care. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a BS in Exercise Science, Dr. Moore earned a medical degree at the California School of Podiatric Medicine and then went on to complete his podiatric residency at Intermountain Medical Center, Utah.
In efforts to assist all student Athletes in the school district the Community Hospital Clinics will continue to join efforts with the Wickenburg Community Hospital Physical Therapists to provide free sports physicals each year. The majority of these free physicals are provided at the end of March in the Wickenburg Clinic during the Community Health Fair, in an effort to meet the Arizona Interscholastic Association’s annual requirement for preparticipation physical evaluation the March date will allow student athletes to participate in spring and fall sports for the next school year. WCH also includes an evaluation from a physical therapist who can provide additional guidance to each athlete regarding the body’s physical wellbeing. As a token of appreciation for the dedication each High School head coach was provided a gift back from Wickenburg Community Hospital’s Rehabilitation team to kickoff their 2019-2020 season.
