Laboratory:

The laboratory is certified, equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, and operated by highly qualified medical laboratory staff. Six specialty areas, including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology and blood bank provide full capability and access to the latest screening and diagnostic laboratory tests as well as tests used to monitor therapy.  Specialized tests not available in-house are referred to accredited reference laboratories.

Automated systems in each specialty area provide the most accurate and reliable test results achievable in the clinical laboratory setting.  Critical stat test results are rapidly completed to optimize patient care in emergencies.  Administrative, quality control and communication functions are fully supported by a superior laboratory information system.  Test results are automatically transmitted to the physician, whether in the hospital, local community, Phoenix metro area or to any physician office with fax capability (particularly beneficial to winter residents followed by physicians in their home state).

Safe blood products are provided for outpatient transfusion in addition to those needed for inpatients or emergency room patients.  Blood draw specimen collection services are provided to patients whose labs must be sent to insurance-contracted reference laboratories.  Laboratory staff members collecting blood specimens are highly skilled in working with all ages, including infants and children.
