Be a Hospital Hero!

#Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving, held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Our Campaign: Wickenburg Community Hospital Foundation is participating in the global #GivingTuesday movement now through December 3, 2019 to support fundraising for the Emergency Department Renovation Project at Wickenburg Community Hospital. As a  Federally designated nonprofit organization,  the success of this project is 100% dependent on fundraising. Please help us improve Rural Emergency Care in Central Arizona. Donate Today!

Our Communities:  Over 3,300 square miles and over fourteen communities - Our service area has been designated as medically underserved by the Health Resources Services Administration.  18% of the population lives under the Federal poverty level. Children ages 0 to 18 make up 25% of the area’s population, and elder adult ages 65 and older comprise 36% of the population.

#SupportRuralER: When you donate, your contribution amount will be matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to the generosity of the Wellik Foundation and 100% of all funds raised support the Emergency Department Renovation Project for nonprofit Wickenburg Community Hospital.

IMPROVING RURAL EMERGENCY CARE

Emergency Department Renovation Project

The WCH Emergency Department Renovation Project is driven by the growing needs of our region. Over the last six years ER patient count went from 5,438 in 2013 to over 7,000 patients in 2018, and this growth is projected to continue.

Project Goal: To provide enhanced functionality, and improve access to lifesaving Level IV  emergency services to over fourteen rural communities in Central Arizona by renovating approximately 4,000 SF of existing space in the emergency department and approximately 2,000 SF of adjacent space in the hospital in order to add a new emergency department walk-in entrance, registration area, and triage area.

What is a Level IV Trauma Center?  In the United States, a Level IV trauma center provides advanced trauma life support prior to patient transfer in remote areas in which no higher level of care is available. The key role of the Level IV center is to resuscitate and stabilize patients and arrange for their transfer to the closest, most appropriate trauma facility.
