For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a nurse, so upon graduating from Wickenburg High School, I began studies for my Associate of Science in Nursing from Boswell School of Nursing. During school, I received certifications as a Nursing Assistant and Emergency Medical Technician. While completing my studies, I began working in an Emergency Department in the Phoenix area as an Emergency Room Technician. Throughout my nursing career, I have had not only the opportunity to work in many different capacities, including Staff Nurse and Clinical Nurse Manager, but I also had the opportunity to further my education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University.
Working as a Manager in the Emergency Department, I found myself missing the ability to provide care for patients. This led me back to my roots in Wickenburg where I found a job in the Emergency Department at Wickenburg Community Hospital. It was during this time, that I returned to school and earned a Master of Science in Nursing- Family Nurse Practitioner, from Northern Arizona University.
Growing up in Wickenburg, I developed affection for the area and its people. Working for most of my career in the Valley, I lost the ability to make personal connections with my patients and returning to work in Wickenburg restored that ability. I consider myself blessed to have the opportunity to raise my family and provide healthcare services to the community that I call home.
