Lorraine Holnback Brodek was born in Hollywood and raised in Beverly Hills, CA. In 1962 she earned her degree in television and communications from USC where she was the first female station manager of KUSC-TV. This is also where she met her husband of 56 years, Tom Brodek.
They are the proud parents of two daughters and one grandson. Lorraine and Tom lived in Paradise Valley, AZ in the 70’s where she started and chaired the volunteer Friends Group for Public TV (KAET) on the ASU campus. At the same time, she created a needlecraft company and catalog, Fingerworks, based on her own designs that she headed for 15 years.
Upon Tom and Lorraine’s return to California she created the award-winning catalog for Warner Bros. that sold studio merchandise promoting WB films (Batman); TV shows (Murphy Brown) & Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny) becoming VP of Direct Marketing for Time Warner.
She has also been involved in landscaping and has written and illustrated four books, one of which received the USA Best Book Awards in 2014. She received the Mayor’s Commendation from the City of Los Angeles for her “outstanding achievements.” Tom and Lorraine moved to Wickenburg in 2017 from Hana, Maui where they had a second home for over 20 years. Her favorite focus now is serving on the WCH Foundation Board, hosting Movie Mondays at Wickenburg Ranch and Pickle Ball.
