Michael Purnell, MD, FAAOS
Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Purnell is a board certified, fellowship trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon, specializing in shoulder and knee pathology. He trained at the University of Iowa, Boston University, and completed postgraduate fellowship work in Munich, Germany and Sydney, Australia. His sports career pivoted to caring for athletes, where he has been the team physician for a Minor league baseball affiliate for over 25 years, as well as the team physician for local colleges, high schools, and the Central West Ballet. He founded Modesto Sports Medicine, a non-profit organization to fund and support athletic training programs for high schools. He has also developed an Ortho-biologic program to offer nonsurgical, less invasive, healing opportunities to patients, allowing their bodies to recover and heal naturally. “I am really looking forward to getting to know the Wickenburg community, helping both athletes and non-athletes stay healthy and active.”
Mitch Wagner, MD

As a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mitch Wagner Specializes in a full complement of surgical and non-surgical techniques to treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system, such as minimally invasive surgery and regenerative medicine. Dr. Wagner is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine followed by orthopedic residency training at The Cleveland Clinic with additional fellowship training in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic trauma at Tampa General Hospital and New York Medical College. “Having practiced for over 15 years in Phoenix and Scottsdale, it has been my pleasure to be part of what has developed into a very successful surgical program in a progressive community hospital.” – Mitch Wager, MD

With over 20 years’ experience in the field of orthopedic surgery, Kevin’s expertise covers each subspecialty and includes a full spectrum of spine, sports medicine, trauma, and joint replacement surgeries. Kevin began his career in medicine as an Air Force Medic and then attended a top physician assistant program at the University of Utah. Robert Ripley, MD, FACS
General Surgeon
A board-certified general surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Ripley’s comprehensive expertise includes surgery for cancers’ of the colon and breast, laparoscopic hernia repair, and preventative health screening such as colonoscopy. Dr. Ripley began his career as a graduate of The University of Virginia, followed by The Medical College of Virgina. He went on to complete his internship and residency at The Medical College of Georgia and board certification through The American College of Surgeons. Jason Rovak, MD
Orthopedic Hand Surgeon
Dr. Rovak’s practice includes all aspects of hand surgery including wrist and hand fractures, nerve repair and decompression tend repair, superficial soft tissue repair, arthritic conditions, and ganglion excision. “I am a Denver based hand surgeon with a number of interests outside of medicine. I have been playing piano and guitar since childhood with a focus on blues/jazz/improvisational music. My lifetime obsession with aviation led me to get a pilot’s license in 2016. I now have both instrument and commercial ratings and am working toward my flight instructor rating.” – Jason Rovak, MD

Dr. Michael MacDonald is a dedicated adult urologist with a passion for providing exceptional healthcare services to his community. Born in Warren, MI, Dr. MacDonald’s journey into the world of medicine began with a strong desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. During his time at medical school, Dr. MacDonald honed his skills and expertise, embracing the challenges and opportunities to grow as a compassionate and skilled physician. After completing medical school, he undertook his residency at Wayne State, where he further specialized in urology, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and expertise in the field. Dr. MacDonald dedicated two decades of his life in service to his country. With unwavering loyalty and sense of duty, he served in the Army where he continued to excel as a medical professional, earning respect form his colleagues and patients alike. Dr. MacDonald is excited to embark on a new chapter of his life. He, along with his loving family, is relocating to Arizona, where he is eager to serve this community of Wickenburg.

Brian Siegel, MD is a board-certified Anesthesiologist. He specializes in the areas of interventional pain management and regenerative medicine. I became involved with research at ta hospital in Cincinnati and before I knew it, I was hooked. I received a BA and MS in Zoology at Miami University, spent a year doing research with lasers in medicine. I then went on to Medical College of Ohio where I subsequently completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. I enjoy practicing medicine in rural communities because my patients care about their health and wellbeing. It is wonderful to be in Wickenburg treating people and hearing patients say thank you.

Providing Care at the Clinic in Wickenburg - Dr. Melde returned to Arizona where he earned his medical degree in 1971 as one of the very first classes of 32 students at the University of Arizona School of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona. He received a second licenses in the state of Arizona for homeopathic and integrated medicine, MD(H) in February 2008. Dr. Melde is a first-generation medical doctor from a a family of multi-level medical professionals and is the eldest of nine children. He currently resides in Scottsdale, AZ with his wife. He has 5 daughters and 11 grandchildren.

Providing Care at the Clinic in Wickenburg - Mandi’s healthcare career began as a nursing assistant. She then moved onto become an LPN, RN, and now a Nurse Practitioner. Her healthcare journey started back when she was in high school. A counselor stated that nursing will be the next big employment filed with jobs galore. Mandi sees patients ages ten to adult from acute to chronic illnesses. In addition, she has her wound care certification. “Since choosing healthcare as my profession I have never regretted a single day of my choice and am very proud of my profession.”

While working, I also completed Nursing School at Yavapai Community College in Prescott, AZ. Before long I began to feel as though I could not do enough for patients and wanted to go further. I entered the Primary Care/Emergency Nurse Practitioner Program at Maricopa County Hospital, challenged the PA exam, and became a Physician Assistant. I love practicing medicine and have done so for over 30 years. Every patient has a story, and every patient is dear to my heart.”

Lisa has a passion for providing quality healthcare to rural communities. Her strong work history includes providing care at Fountain Hills Medical Center as a primary care specialist and Arizona Grand Medical in Dewey AZ as Nurse Practitioner–medical provider. In addition she served as a Nurse Practitioner at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in the Cardiology Division where she specialized in Anticoagulation Management. As a Certified Anticoagulation Care Provider, she helped bring their anticoagulation clinic to national award status, Center of Excellence. She enjoyed public speaking and providing anticoagulation education to Fellows and other hospital departments as needed. Lisa now provides primary care at our Rural Health Clinic in Congress, AZ where she has been working along side Lea Way, FNP-C, PA-C to get to know the Congress Clinic patients and has already fallen in love with the community of amazing people.

She believes deeply in her calling and knew she was on the path to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Courtney provides Primary Care services to patients of all ages, treating acute and chronic illnesses. Her approach to patient care embodies a holistic approach that considers all elements within the patient environment that contribute to their overall health or illness. She aims to empower patients to be active participants in their wellness journey. She is married with three children ranging in age from 17 to 30, and in her spare time, she loves to read and play golf.

Faridy’s philosophy to care is holistic, collaborative and patient centered. As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, her objective is to empower patients to teak control of their mental wellbeing. Her treatment plan includes education regarding the patient’s diagnosis and available evidence-based treatments to they can participate in the decision process. Faridy will employ a combination of psychotropic medications and psychotherapy to optimize patient recovery. Angela Braate, LCSW

Proving behavioral health, mental health and psychiatric services for children and adults from the Wickenburg Clinic via Telehealth. Angela Braaten is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Angela grew up in Topeka, Kansas and received her graduated degree in clinic social work at Washburn University. She started her career in community behavioral health, where she provided services to teens and families. Angela worked with patients struggling with addictions, chronic mental illness, and acute crisis. Angela has also worked in the hospital settings providing crisis assessment, end of life discussions, goals for care and trauma case management. She is skilled in palliative care consults and geriatric interventions, as well. most recently, she worked in a primary care clinic providing services for patients struggling with addictions, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship conflicts and other mental health symptoms that are connected to overall wellbeing and health. Angela is trained in dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma work, motivational interviewing, and solution focused interventions.
